Real screens from the app as it stands in private testing, with example data. The letters and people in them are examples.

Avanti Medico is being built to start with the letter you were given, and to stay with you through the weeks after.
When Avanti Medico opens, you will be able to paste a clinic letter and have it returned as the letter itself, with plain English written between its lines and questions for your next appointment gathered in the margin. Photographing a letter will work on Android and on the web, and not yet on iOS. The words will be read on your device, and only the text sent.
Avanti Medico is being built to give plain-English explanations of conditions, medicines and procedures, drawn from the NHS website. Each page is being built to show its source, when it was fetched and how fresh it is, so a reader can open the original and check. The condition library is empty today, so no explanation is published yet.
Diagnosis Space is being built as a simple route with five stations. At each one it will say what has changed since you last read, so you can pick up where you left off.
Before an appointment, you will be able to gather your questions on one rehearsal card, print it or keep it on your phone, and walk in knowing what you want to ask.
Avanti Medico is being built so that a daughter, a partner or a carer can share your route, but only with your permission. They would help you prepare without reading over your shoulder.
Made to be read at any hour: legible type for everyone, and a calm night theme. The toggle is at the top of the page.
Avanti Medico explains the words. It leaves the rest to the people who know you.
It does not diagnose.
Avanti Medico explains. It is not a symptom checker and it is not medical advice.
It does not tell you how urgent something is.
In an emergency, call 999. For urgent help that is not an emergency, call NHS 111.
It does not predict how things will go for you.
What it explains is general. It does not know your history, your results or your other medicines.
It does not give doses or personal advice.
Questions about your own medicines belong with your pharmacist or the person who prescribed them.
It does not watch over your health.
No symptom tracking, no monitoring, no alerts about how you are doing.
In private testing, and opening more widely once its clinical editorial and safety checks are complete.
Leave your email address and we will send one email when your access is ready. We ask for nothing else, because we do not need anything else.
